Hi Claire, Dick has sent a message that he does not understand what "SOAP" is in respect of Charity Commission returns. What can he mean please?

For Dick - The Charity Commission ask for financial information from all registered charities each year.
If the charity's accounts are prepared on an accruals basis, they have to be prepared in line with certain guidelines - the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).
I know these terms can be confusing; there is a jargon buster on the WYCAS website which may help Dick. Here's the link: http://www.wycas.org.uk/help-advice/jargon-buster/
A bit like SOAP, the SORP helps make the accounts cleaner!
