Foul play?

The Governance Academy wants your charity to be aware of the Fundraising Regulator's proposals for levies on charities but don't panic - read the article!

The Fundraising Regulator has publishes a discussion paper on proposed levy and registration fees which will possibly discriminate against smaller charities. Indeed, the proposed levy may require the smallest charities to pay six times as much as the largest ones, as a proportion of their total expenditure.

But and this is a big but! Only charities with an annual fundraising expenditure of £100,000 or more will have to pay anything.

The regulator proposes eight tiers of payment for charities, ranging from £10,000 for charities with an annual fundraising expenditure of over £20 million to £250 for charities with an annual fundraising expenditure between £100,000 and £150,000
