After 17 years as Chief Executive Office of Touchstone, Alison Lowe has made the very difficult decision to step down.  This is because the new West Yorkshire Metro Mayor, Tracy Brabin, will be recommending Alison to the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Panel as her candidate to become the Deputy Mayor for Policing.

Alison Lowe reflected “I have made the difficult decision to leave and pursue my passion of inclusion, justice and fairness within West Yorkshire Police.  In the current environment of Black Lives Matter and policing in general, I think this is the best way to end my working life and I will ensure I bring all the lessons I have learned over the last 17 years to bear in my new role.”

Jeremy Horsell, Chair of the Trustees at Touchstone commented “You don’t need me to tell you just what an outstanding leader Alison has been for our organisation these past 17 years and we all know that she will leave a very large hole – in our hearts as well as in our working lives.”

He goes on to say “her expected appointment as Deputy Mayor of the new West Yorkshire Combined Authority with specific responsibility for Police and Crime represents a fantastic and irresistible opportunity for her to make a difference within the wider West Yorkshire community. We can only congratulate Alison on her appointment and wish her every success and satisfaction in her new role.”

 Alison will take up her new role in August 2021 and until then, she will be supporting the Board to find a new CEO who will take Touchstone on the next phase of its journey.
