Managing Relationships and Board Dynamics - Pilot Workshop

Are you a Chair of a smaller charity? Looking to get the best from your trustees and staff team?

When Thursday 7 March at 1:30pm to 5:15pm
Where Voluntary Action Leeds
Stringer House 34 Lupton Street Hunslet Leeds LS10 2QW
The leadership role of Chair means that you need to manage dynamics amongst your trustees and between your trustees and staff or volunteers.  This can be a complex and challenging task.

This pilot workshop aims to provide you with practical guidance and tools to help you navigate this challenge and to help you get the best out of your trustees, staff or volunteers.  It has been developed with the complexities of chairing a smaller organisation (with an annual income of under £1 million) in mind; such as working with a small number of trustees, the executive role often being in a part-time or voluntary capacity and individuals often having both operational and governance roles.  You will have the opportunity to share learning with Chairs of other smaller organisations.

By the end of this workshop, you will:
  • Understand what will help you get the best from your trustees and work effectively with key individuals such as a Vice-Chair, Treasurer, CEO or operational lead
  • Be more confident in dealing with difficult dynamics, managing conflict effectively
  • Have practical tools to help you manage boundaries between operations and governance
  • Gain insight and top tips from other Chairs of smaller organisations

Registration is from 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

This is a pilot workshop, therefore your feedback will be required at the end of the session.
