|When||Wednesday 23 October at 1:30pm to 5:15pm|
Exact location confirmed on booking
As Chair, your role includes enabling your board to work well together and supporting your trustees to resolve any conflict. This might mean having difficult conversations with one or more of your trustees to confront problematic behaviours. This workshop aims to provide you with practical guidance and tools to help you develop the board as a team and give you the confidence to deal with any conflict at an early stage.
This workshop has been developed with the complexities of chairing a smaller organisation in mind (with an annual income of under £1 million); such as working with a smaller number of trustees and individuals often having both operational and governance roles. You will have the opportunity to share learning and sources of support with Chairs of other smaller organisations.
By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
- Enable your board to work well together
- Manage conflict and support difficult conversations
- Gain insights and top tips from other Chairs of smaller organisations
This workshop only costs £20 is only open to those who have registered with the Beacon Programme. You can register for the programme and find out more information through the link below: https://www.associationofchairs.org.uk/events/developing-an-effective-board-2/
The programme is aimed at Chairs and Vice-Chairs of smaller charities in England with an annual income of under £1 million. We offer a travel bursary to delegates from organisations with an income under £100k when booking at least a month ahead. These bursaries are given on a first-come, first-served, basis.
