Community Engagement & Advice Worker (0.6 FTE)
You’ll lead on support and coaching for refugees and asylum seekers, helping them access services, overcome challenges, and build confidence. You’ll also facilitate group workshops and social action activities, enabling participants to become community leaders and advocates for change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support and signposting on housing, welfare, health, and integration
- Facilitate group sessions, including leadership and advocacy workshops
- Work closely with volunteers and partners to provide holistic, joined-up support
- Support participants to engage in decision-making spaces and local forums
- Help build pathways from crisis support into empowerment and long-term engagement
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with refugee/asylum seeker communities or in a community outreach setting
- Understanding of the barriers faced by individuals from displaced or marginalised backgrounds
- Experience coordinating volunteers or delivering advice/support services
- A trauma-informed, culturally sensitive approach to engagement
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
