Waythrough
About the role…
Award-winning service, Forward Leeds, is looking for a Service Manager to oversee its Young People’s Team.
As the Young People’s Team Service Manager, you will be working with a committed, diverse team, of approximately 14 staff, who support young people across Leeds with issues related to drugs and alcohol. In addition, you will help develop the skills of this highly valuable team as you lead them towards personal fulfilment—and career success!
The service supports young people up to the age of 18, as well as offering support and treatment for drug or alcohol use to young adults aged 18 – 24.

About you…
As a Service Manager for the Young People’s Team, we are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to reach their potential and recognise the positive impact quality drug and alcohol interventions can have on young lives. We require the Service Manager to be confident in developing strong relationships with a diverse range of community partners to support young people.
Ideally you will:
- Have experience of working in services that support children and young people or adults.
- Experience or knowledge of services that support people around drugs and alcohol.
- Experience of developing new pathways, service relationships and service models
- Hold or be working towards a recognised Management qualification e.g., Level 5 in management / Leadership (or have relevant experience).
If you’re interested in experiencing a different service-delivery model and have several years of management experience, ideally as a Service Manager in another field, this may be the perfect role for you.
If you have less experience of managing staff, we’re willing to overlook this if you can provide us with evidence of unique skills or talents.

Who are we…
Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
Bringing together two big organisations is not a small task and it’ll take a while to fully integrate our systems, processes and approaches. That’s why you will notice the jobs here are still branded ‘Humankind’. Next year we’ll be fully integrating our recruitment systems but for now they are separate.
