The Sight Loss Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of a funding agreement we have with Wakefield Metropolitan District Council, which involves conducting home visits to assess clients’ needs and providing certain equipment. In addition, the role provides emotional support, impartial information, guidance and advocacy to visually impaired adults, their families and carers across the Wakefield district. The position is also responsible for organising and coordinating the delivery of Equipment Demonstration and Advice Days that are currently held six times a year at our Parkside premises.Further details on the key areas of responsibility are contained within the job description and person specification - please contact Beverley Poppleton for an application pack.

This is a two-year contract initially. Working hours are 16 hours per week, core hours flexible Monday to Thursday (some Friday working may be required dependent on client needs).
Annual holidays: 5 weeks equivalent plus Bank and Public Holidays (8 + 2) and closure days over the Christmas/New Year period.
Pension: Wakefield District Sight Aid has an auto-enrolment scheme in line with Government regulation.​​Required qualifications: An RNIB & City University Eye Clinic Support Studies qualification or willingness to attend the course and obtain the qualification.
