Description
Job Purpose and duties:  
 To manage the delivery / maintenance of BEA’s transport, buildings and the IT and telecommunication network. As a member of the Management Team the post holder will be expected to report to the Leadership Team and work with them in delivering the organisations objectives and mission. The role may require working evenings and weekends to ensure that transport and buildings operate at these times.  

Responsibilities:      
  • Manage effective / efficient delivery and maintenance schedules for the transport, the buildings and oversight of the IT and telecommunication network
  • Monitor, evaluate and help develop these systems
  • Act as Health and Safety Officer for the organisation
  • Be the emergency contact for transport and the buildings
  • Report to the Leadership Team and be an active member of BEA's Management Team
  • Contribute to the organisations financial sustainability including commercial income generation
     
PERSON SPECIFICATION
General attributes:  ·        
  • Experienced and competent in managing and motivating staff and volunteers     
  • Sufficient flexibility and availability in order to manage and deliver our transport service and the maintenance / use of our community buildings

Skills:      
  • Managing people: ability to communicate, motivate and delegate ·        
  • IT literate and the ability to work with an IT support service to ensure that we have an efficient IT and telecommunication network       
  • An understanding of issues affecting older people / third sector  

Experience:              
  • A good understanding of community transport ·        
  • Working in a management capacity in the third sector         
  • Familiar with managing budgets

Aptitude:              ·        
  • Ability to manage the maintenance of building and to work with contractors   
  • Prepared to work as necessary to complete the tasks in hand        
  • Effective communicator
