Tower Block Project Engagement & Development Worker – Jimbo's Fund (Half time)

Salary £21,000-£22,500 p/a (pro rata) depending on experience
Hours: 18.5 hours per week

Following a successful Jimbo's Fund application we are looking for an enthusiastic Engagement & Development Worker with a passion for developing the skills of individuals and the capacity of groups in disadvantaged communities.

Job Summary
  • To run a year long pilot working in three high rise tower blocks in East Leeds to help create community spirit and connections between residents.
  • To use a community development approach to engage with residents of high rise tower blocks in East Leeds and to support them to develop and participate in activities which contribute to reducing social isolation and improving social and physical well-being.
  • To work in a non-judgemental way giving a voice to marginalised groups and responding to their concerns by developing activities that promote tolerance and understanding amongst the different communities of East Leeds.
  • To deliver identified project outputs and outcomes as required by the funders and agreed in the annual delivery plan.
  • To work in ways which promote the principles of Zest reducing inequalities, developing partnerships and promoting community participation.
Terms and conditions to include: 39 days annual leave per year (pro rata), including public and bank holiday allowances. Zest will contribute 5% of salary to a pension scheme. Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure.
