Position 1:
Post:                           Assistant Housing Support Worker (0.6FTE)
Team:                          Leaving Care + Team 
Contract:                    Permanent
Hours:                         42.5 hrs worked fortnightly worked up to 10pm weekday                                                evenings and 10am -6pm alternative weekends.
Salary Scale / Point:  GIPSIL Scale 3 Point 15          
Starting Salary:          £17,972 pro rota per annum (From 1st April 2019 £18,795 pro rota per annum)
Benefits:                      29 days’ annual leave pro rota per annum (plus Bank Holidays entitlement pro rota per annum), employee health plan and company pension scheme, cycle to work scheme.

Position 2:
Post:                            Assistant Housing Support Worker (1FTE)
Team:                          Flagship
Contract:                    Permanent
Hours:                         37 hrs per week Monday – Friday with a requirement to work                                        evening and weekends when required.
Salary Scale / Point:  GIPSIL Scale 3 Point 15          
Starting Salary:          £17,972 per annum (From 1st April 2019 £18,795 per annum)

Benefits:                     29 days’ annual leave pro rota per annum (plus Bank Holidays entitlement pro rota per annum), employee health plan and company pension scheme, cycle to work scheme.

These are entry level roles which work alongside housing support staff who support people aged 16-25 in the delivery of the activities described below.  

GIPSIL is a Leeds based voluntary organisation proud of its work with local communities and supporting young people to reach independence. One of the ways we do this is through the provision of trainer flats, one-to-one support, group work, drop-ins and joint-working. 

We work with a range of professionals from children’s social care, youth offending service, housing options, landlords, job centre plus, benefits agencies and other voluntary organisations.

The main responsibilities of the post include: -  

  • Accompany a young person to an appointment where directed (example house viewing, college, doctors etc.)
  • Complete actions indicated in the support plan where directed.
  • Supporting group activities or events where directed.
  • Record all work done on the young person’s electronic file referred to as CDP.
  • Support access to the services by taking a referral over the phone or face-to-face.
  • Contacting young people to give or gather information for example satisfaction and exit surveys.
  • Support organised activities which benefit young people as agreed by supervisor/manager.
