Learning Partnerships are currently recruiting for a:   
Money Advice Worker 
12 months fixed term contract
 (17.5 hours per week) Working days Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 
Actual Salary £10,575 rising to £10,825 after 3 months   

Learning Partnerships is a community based charitable organisation highly recognised for delivering successful programmes to engage and support members of the community through intensive 1-1 support, training and development. We would like to appoint a part-time Money Advice Worker.  This role is for a new programme following the receipt of funding from NatWest – Skills & Opportunities Fund to set up a Money & Advice Hub at our offices in Harehills, Leeds.   You will engage and support customers both 1-1 and in groups providing free, impartial and confidential advice on a range of issues, such as budgeting, money management, debt, employment and the welfare benefits system. You will work closely with our other programmes and external partners helping us to achieve the overall Vision of our Charity ‘A society where individuals are engaged, inspired and empowered to achieve their full potential.’ 

The successful candidate will have/be: 
  • Experience of offering 1-1 budgeting, money management and debt advice. 
  • Experience of carrying out customer assessments and formulating action plans. 
  • An understanding of the potential customer groups and the barriers they face. 
  • An understanding of other support and referral organisations both locally and nationally. 
  • The ability to setup and run appropriate groups for instance:  Universal Credits, Budgeting and Money management 
  • The ability to assist customers with basic debt advice, budgeting and help them talk to creditors, debt recovery agencies, benefit deduction orders and other like bodies. 
  • Knowledge of the benefits system and welfare reform including Universal Credit. 
  • Good numeracy skills with the ability to carry out efficient calculations and prepare budgets for customers.
  • The ability to effectively use standard IT packages in the provision of advice and the preparation of statistical reports and submissions.
