We are recruiting for a Support worker (HI/VI) to join our friendly team at Leeds Hearing and Sight loss Service to provide high-quality support for our service users who are Deaf, Hearing Impaired, sight Impaired or severely sight impaired , Deafblind or have acquired Dual Sensory Loss to facilitate opportunities to live meaningful and fulfilled lives.
As a Support worker you will be providing a range of housing related interventions by co working with the Assessors, so that service users can maintain their tenancy and achieve independence to their best ability. You will be responsible for booking own appointments, managing workload and dealing with general day to day correspondence ensuring service users case notes, risk assessments, support plans are read and case notes/interventions are updated on our database.
To be successful for the post you will have experience in working with and supporting people with a broad range of sensory, learning and other disabilities be and ideally hold a related qualification such as Hearing Impairment or Visual Impairment training.
Flexibility is essential as the post requires evenings and weekend work. BSL level 3 qualification is an advantage but not essential. BSL training will be provided.
