Leeds Women’s Aid provides a range of services for vulnerable women and families who are victims and survivors of: Domestic, Sexual & Honour Based Violence and Abuse; Forced Marriage; Trafficking; Stalking and Harassment to become safe, confident and independent.   Leeds Women’s Aid is the lead agency for Leeds Domestic Violence Service (LDVS), a consortium of 3 agencies offering support to women, men and transgender/non binary people.   An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic woman* to join our expanding and committed team. Have you got what it takes to make a difference, if so, apply to join LDVS?   You will need to demonstrate (amongst other skills):        •    A good understanding of the complex support needs of survivors of domestic violence        •    Experience of working with survivors of domestic violence        •    An understanding of the barriers faced by those from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences affected                by domestic violence including Forced Marriage and/or Honour Based Violence and LGBT+        •    Ability to speak a second community language would be advantageous and also a knowledge of housing              management and benefit systems   Closing date:                    Monday 23rd September 2019, 9.00 am Interview date:        Wednesday 2nd October 2019  Domestic Violence Support Worker (Refuge) 21 Hours per week with the option to work 33 hours until July 2020 Starting salary NJC Scale 5 £23,342 pro rata
