Leeds Mencap is a busy, friendly and ambitious local charity based in East Leeds but operating city wide.
Based at The Vinery Centre, we have a thriving community nursery and room hire enterprise running alongside our specialist services for children and young people with learning disabilities and their families. We are an independent local charity and we need to raise all our own funds.
Leeds Mencap are looking for an experienced trusts fundraiser with a track record of successfully raising money from trusts and foundations. We need someone who’ll be able to hit the ground running and help us deliver our fundraising plans.
A large part of your role will be to implement our annual programme of trusts and foundation applications and secure funds from a range of large, medium and small trusts including a range of multi-year funders. You’ll need excellent writing skills, strong analytical skills and you’ll need to be able to articulate our case for support clearly and persuasively. You’ll also need to develop strong relationships with our existing funders as well as new funders so we can maximise our fundraising from trusts.
We have a small fundraising team and so we need you to be flexible and creative in your approach. You’ll be a self-starter who can manage their own workload and be willing to get stuck in during this exciting time for Leeds Mencap. With excellent interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to engage with people at all levels and spot opportunities to support our fundraising growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious local charity. In return you’ll work in a stimulating role with supportive, friendly and talented colleagues. You’ll also go home each day knowing you have made a difference to the lives of people in Leeds with learning disabilities and their families.
This role is 37.5 hours per week but we would consider providing some flexibility around the hours for the right candidate. For more information about the post and to download an application form please see: http://www.leedsmencap.org.uk/get-involved/job-vacancies
