Contract:                     Permanent
Hours:                          Full-Time (37hrs per week) 
Salary Scale / Point:   Scale 5 Point 12
Salary:                         £21,589 per annum

Location:                     Co-located with partner organisation BARCA, Wyther Lane, Kirkstall, Leeds, LS5 3BT  

Purpose of the job  

  • To provide holistic advice and support to those accessing ENGAGE Leeds services to maximise their opportunities in respect of employment, education, training and other engagement opportunities, such as volunteering and work experience placements. 
  • To provide consultancy support to colleagues in respect of employment and engagement work.
  • To develop innovative approaches to the delivery of Employment and Engagement work for the benefit of service users.
  • To work effectively with other agencies to maximise Employment and Engagement opportunities across the city.
Key Responsibilities   
  • Service Users’ Support  
  • To provide bespoke packages of support to maximise service users’ options in respect of employment and engagement opportunities.
  • To provide consultancy support to colleagues in respect of employment and engagement work.
  • To manage own caseload with minimal supervision.
  • To provide a service which is flexible to need and which will likely include delivery via work clubs, home visits, email and telephone as well as face to face appointments. 
  • To have and continue to develop a wide knowledge base in relation to employment and engagement opportunities for the benefit of SUs, housing support team and the organisation as a whole.
  • To assist service users, who are frequently engaged in a chaotic period in their lives, to access their options in respect of employment, education, training and other engagement opportunities.
  • To liaise with ENGAGE Leeds partners, employers, training and education providers, Leeds City Council, Jobcentre Plus and other relevant external organisations and funding agencies. 
  • To work with the Advice Team to maintain a working knowledge of welfare rights issues affecting service users, especially in light of the development and ongoing implementation of Universal Credit and other welfare reform. 
  • To compile and maintain full, timely and accurate case notes in respect of work undertaken.
  • To participate in support planning in collaboration with the SU, housing support worker and other staff where appropriate.
  • To ensure vulnerable people are safeguarded by working within GIPSIL’s relevant procedures and carry out duties in accordance with GIPSIL’s values

Team and Interagency Working  
 ·To engage with and refer to all GIPSIL, ENGAGE Leeds, partner agency and other relevant staff to ensure that service users have access to all appropriate opportunities and services.
 ·To support the delivery of the Engage Leeds city wide housing support service.
 ·To lead by example and support solution focussed and restorative approach. 
·To work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders and service users. 
·To represent Engage Leeds in a professional and knowledgeable manner. 
·To share information as appropriate, adhering to the organisation’s confidentiality policy.

General  
  • To ensure accurate and timely record keeping on the systems used.
  • To take part in regular, reflective supervision and appraisals to ensure both the delivery of a good quality service and personal and professional development.
  • To attend any required training that will increase knowledge and proficiency in your specified area of work.
  • To attend any meetings as deemed necessary by management.
  • To work collaboratively and restoratively with colleagues, stakeholders, service users, consortium partners and other agencies.
  • To contribute to the effective monitoring and evaluation of GIPSIL services and ensure all outcomes are evidenced.
  • To work within the organisational policies, procedures and values, including the organisation’s Equality & Diversity Policy, promoting diversity and difference in all aspects of work.
