Advonet are pleased to be inviting applications for the post of Leeds Autism AIM volunteer coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to help further develop an innovative service together with autistic adults locally to ensure the views of autistic adults are heard and acted on. The AIM service is designed for and with autistic adults who have little or no formal funded support It delivers:
  • Autism hub sessions
  • Regular groups and workshops
  • Advocacy and peer support
  • Mentoring service
  • Information/signposting
  • Training/consultation
  • Autistic led post diagnostic sessions
AIM is part of Advonet, the independent advocacy provider in Leeds, so a passion to enable and empower people to have their voice heard and a commitment to working in a person-centred way is essential. We are looking for applicants with experience of working alongside autistic adults as well as working alongside volunteers and /or developing projects.  You will be working alongside a majority autistic staffed AIM team and responsible for maintaining and developing our autism mentor service and wider autism volunteer provision.  The post is for 22 hours/3 days a week with potential to increase hours as this is a growing project. The ability to work flexible hours including some evenings is necessary.

The recruitment panel includes a person who uses the service. They will be involved at the short-listing stage. In order to help the whole panel get as much as possible from your application form please make your application form as accessible as you can.

If you would like more information or an informal chat about the post please call on 0113 244 0606 and ask to speak to Wendy Cork or Own Walker email wendy.cork@advonet.org.uk
