Barca is working closely with the Middleton & Hunslet Primary Care Networks to develop this exciting new role.
The focus is to support and enable Primary Care Practitioners to understand and successfully navigate the referrals system for their patients’ aged 5 to 18 requiring mental health services. Working across Primary Care, Schools Clusters, with children and young people and their parents or carers, the post-holder will identify and deliver system improvements. This is a learning project commissioned with the support of Leeds CCG and GP Confederation, which will inform future thinking across the city for children’s mental health services.
The post holder will have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience of providing mental health services to children and young people and the skills to identify, analyse and report on system problems and improvement measures. They will be able to draw on their previous front line experience to communicate directly with children, young people, and their parents and to keep them safe and assess their needs, when required, whilst navigating delays to treatment services.
