Description

Rainbow Junktion cafe at All Hallows Church, Leeds is a busy community cafe which primarily serves people in the Hyde Park area and beyond  with 'waste' food made into nutritious meals. It also provides a local community space for meeting.

At present it is serving takeaways, providing a shop for essential provisions and acting as a hub for Leeds City Council food deliveries. We are looking for an assistant manager to work one day per week (currently Friday) in the cafe from August 1 and to manage occasional Friday night Bistro evenings and external catering when this is possible.

The job also includes some administration and fundraising working alongside  the Café manager and volunteers. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with experience in hospitality, managing volunteers, using social media and fundraising. They will be confident about engaging with an occasionally challenging clientele and maintaining a safe space for local people.

They will enjoy working with volunteers and be able to suggest ways of developing the role in the context of the Café. A clean driving licence and access to a car would be helpful but not essential.
