Description

Tangram Housing Co-operative is run and owned by its members.  They have 40 flats/houses on or near to Bank Side Street in Harehills, Leeds. Members volunteer for various tasks in order to keep the Co-operative running well and in return they have affordable rent, a repairs service and control of being their own landlord.  The Co-operative is a friendly and welcoming community that cares for its members.  

They now have an exciting part-time permanent vacancy for a Building Works Coordinator.  Liaising with the Maintenance Group and reporting to the Management Committee, you will coordinate all building works at Tangram properties to ensure the smooth running of a cyclical maintenance programme along with advising the Co-operative on agreed minimum standards for letting.  You will have the ability to communicate effectively and present positively the public face of Tangram Housing Co-operative In order to work with tenant members, neighbours, community groups and the general public often from diverse communities.  You will have experience of working with contractors and have the ability to negotiate contracts as well as being able to research other suitable contractors so that the Co-operative can make informed choices when re-tendering.  

Working within a defined budget is essential as is experience of compiling and presenting reports that are accessible to the Management Committee.  This role requires the successful candidate to be able to work alone and unsupervised with good time management skills.  You must have the ability to travel to a variety of locations and to work flexibly as some evening/occasional weekend work is required.  In return we can offer good terms and conditions of employment and a 3% pension contribution.
