Advonet are pleased to be inviting applications for the newly created post of Young Person’s Universal Advocate. This role has been created to enable Advonet to further support its provision of advocacy services by engaging specifically with children and young people aged from 11 years to access advocacy, primarily within the Health Complaints service. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to influence the development of advocacy provision for children and young people. You will be responsible for supporting the Universal Advocacy Manager in developing an engagement plan to increase our advocacy work with children and young people and partner agencies who currently work with this age group. You will support the development of this area considering the views of children and young people in how the service should be delivered, including age appropriate resources. In addition, you will undertake 1 to 1 advocacy, holding a caseload. The post is for 22.5 hours, working days to be agreed with the successful candidate. Fixed term for 2 years. We hope that further funding will be secured to extend the contract period after the 2 years. The ability to work flexible hours is important.

If you would like further information about the post please contact Nahida Hussain, Acting Health Complaints Manager.   We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), LGBTQ+ and non-binary candidates and individuals with disabilities and/or experiencing mental health difficulties who are often under-represented in some elements of the organisation.
