Leeds Health Ambassadors

The Leeds Health Ambassadors project works with the CCG to find out what patients and members of the public from across Leeds think about current and proposed health services to help them better meet the needs of the diverse communities of Leeds.

About Leeds Health Ambassadors

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to approach people to complete surveys and support them to fill them out if they need help. Sometimes volunteers might interview members of the public.

Activities happen in all sorts of different places across the whole of Leeds; for instance you might volunteer at a community event or spend a couple of hours talking to people in a Doctors’ surgery.

We have activities happening throughout the year. When you sign up we’ll let you know when opportunities come up and what commitment we’re looking for and you can decide whether you want to help out on that occasion.

Our volunteers get involved in engagement activities throughout the year on a range of different topics, from focused events about specific services (e.g. mental health, maternity or diabetes) to more general information about people’s health and well being (e.g. asking people what actions they could take to improve their health).

All volunteers receive an induction, ongoing support and access to training opportunities. To find out more about how we support volunteers here at VAL, take a look at our Volunteer Handbook.
