The Big Lottery recently introduced a new funding programme called Fulfilling Lives that aims to support older people who are socially isolated.Fulfilling Lives – Ageing Better Core Partnership Expression of Interest
Leeds is amongst 32 Local Authorities selected to go through to the second round of the Big Lottery Fund’s (BLF) Fulfilling Lives: Ageing Better programme. There can only be one partnership in each area, and the partnership must include organisations from across the private, voluntary and public sectors. The lead partner for the partnership is Leeds Older People’s Forum.
The aim of the fund is to enable older people who are most at risk of social isolation and loneliness to lead more fulfilling lives. The BLF are looking for local partnerships to come forward with creative proposals that reflect their local needs and aspirations. There is up to £6 million available to each area over a period of up to 6 years.
What we need to do now:
To develop the bid to the BLF we are now seeking expressions of interest from organisations that wish to be involved as either:
- A core partner
- A member of the wider partnership
A core partnership of relevant organisations is being developed. This partnership will develop the vision and strategy. It will have cross-sector membership. The number of members will not exceed 15. Organisations that wish to be part of this partnership will need to demonstrate their eligibility and commitment through completing this expression of interest. Being a core member will not exclude you from or increase your chances of receiving funding, should Leeds’ bid be successful. We are seeking expressions of interest from the voluntary, public, private sector and older individuals living in Leeds. Voluntary sector applicants can be paid employees, Trustees or volunteers.
