New Creative Arts Course for Older People

Age UK Leeds is working with East Street Arts to run a new ten week creative arts course for older people, starting in January.

The course will involve working as a group with an experienced artist/tutor to create a piece of art around themes such as positive ageing and wellbeing. The course content and techniques will be based upon the ideas and interests of the group, and may involve printmaking, bookmaking, textiles work and photography.

No previous exerience in art and craft necessary - the course is all about learning new skills in a sociable setting, working as a group and improving wellbeing. The course is targeted at older people with long term health conditions and is offered free to anyone with a disability or health condition. Older people without a disability or long term health condition are also welcome to take part, however a small fee will be charged - please contact Sarah for more information about this.

The course will be taking place at the Age UK Leeds building in the city centre, just off the Headrow, and will start on Monday 6 January.
