Leeds Trinity University students are available to work six weeks, unpaid and full time for your organisation as part of their degree. Perfect for projects, events, marketing and much more!
Leeds Trinity University runs six-week professional placements where students work full time, unpaid, either on a specific project or as general support to the work of an organisation. Placements are an embedded and accredited part of every degree and help students gain degree relevant experience to secure graduate employment.
Projects could include...
Projects work really well for placements as they give students something to get their teeth into and give them the opportunity to show how they can work independently. Work could include research, running satisfaction surveys (and feeding back results!), social media campaigns, marketing, events, fundraising, reports, assisting with workshops, one to one support, befriending or offering general additional help.
Students are on a range of undergraduate degrees including Psychology, Humanities, Working with Children & Young People, Nutrition & Food, and Marketing and would welcome the opportunity to work with you and your organisations within the Mental Health and Health Voluntary Sector in Leeds.
What you need to do?
Leeds Trinity University would just ask that you plan some work for the student to do, supervise the student as you would any staff, build in some skills progression where possible and take part in a brief online assessment at the end of the placement. Doesn’t matter if you don’t have a permanently free desk! Students can be flexible and work some of the time with you, at other sites, from home or university, and meet with you regularly for progress updates.
The next placement period is from Tuesday 6 May - Friday 12 June 2014 so if you’re interested and want to know more please contact Jess Sewter, Employer Partnership Manager on 0113 283 7182 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss the next steps.
