After the initial three months, David's secondment to the Police and Crime Commissioner's (PCC) Office has been extended to the end of December.
Those of you who keep up to date on Doing Good Leeds will be aware that David Smith is currently on secondment from Voluntary Action Leeds to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner in Wakefield.
His role there is to ensure that the sector influences and plays a key part in delivering the outcomes set out in the refreshed Police and Crime Plan, available on the Police and Crime Commissiner West Yorkshire website.
Mark Burns-Williamson, West Yorkshire's PCC, working with Voluntary Action Leeds, has decided to extend the secondment till the end of December 2014. David Smith said:
"I'm very pleased that the secondment is proving its worth both for the PCC and the sector. Its a promising further indication of Mark's commitment to a strategic relationship with the third sector. The extension gives us a chance to develop our ideas about how the collaboration can be sustained in the longer term."
