Mark Burns-Williamson has just launched his refreshed Police and Crime Plan
The refreshed Police and Crime Plan sets out the key outcomes to make communities in West Yorkshire be safer and feel safer. The first Plan had to be rushed out shortly after Mark's election back in November 2012. The refreshed plan benefits from extensive consultation with stakeholders (including the Third Sector) and communities across the county.
Sections on safeguarding against violent and serious crimes recognise the significance of child sexual exploitation, domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking and forced marriage. An expanded section on support for victims and wtinesses articulates the approach the PCC will take as he prepares to take over the commissioning of victims services. And sections on drug and alcohol misues and reaching out to people at risk, including those affected by mental health issues, deals directly with the "upstream" issues that put pressure on communities and the criminal justice system.
The refreshed Police and Crime Plan can be found on the Police and Crime Commissiner West Yorkshire website.
