Auto enrolment - what you need to know

In 2012 a new statutory requirement was placed on all employers to have a qualifying pension scheme and to auto-enrol eligible workers.

About Auto Enrolment

This requirement is being rolled out according to employer size. Most small to medium sized third sector organisations reach their “staging date” between 2015 and 2017. Auto enrolment requires employers and workers to make financial contributions into a pension scheme. Even employees who already offer a pension scheme need to confirm that these arrangements satisfy the Auto Enrolment criteria.


To assist you to prepare for auto enrolment a seminar has been arranged. Roddy Hoffmann, Client Relationship Manager of the Pensions Trust, will talk you through the basic requirements and share his experience of working with larger employers who have already auto enrolled. Roddy will be supported by members of VT Services Payroll team.

This seminar will provide important information for employers so they are clear of their obligations. Attendance is open all VT Services Payroll clients and to other third sector organisations who want to ensure they are well prepared for auto enrolment. The seminar takes place at 10am at Voluntary Action Leeds offices on Thursday 17 July and is scheduled to last around 90 minutes.
