Leeds Safeguarding Children Board, in partnership with West Yorkshire Police and the Local Safeguarding Children Boards of Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees and Calderdale, has launched its “Who are you really talking to” campaign.
The online campaign is targeting children and young people to warn them of the dangers of online grooming. The campaign will be running across the summer holidays and will be visible on a variety of websites throughout the region, as well as on Facebook. The main focus of the campaign is an animated image of a young person talking to someone online who they believe to be the same age. The key message is:
Who are you really talking to?”
People may not always be who they say they are…”
Information on how to stay safe online, signs to watch out for and where to go for help can be found on the LSCB website www.leedslscb.org.uk. Any organisation who is interested in helping promote the campaign by displaying the artwork on their website can contact the LSCB directly firstname.lastname@example.org
