Leeds Trinity University runs 6 week professional placements where students work full time, unpaid, either on a specific project or as general support to the work that you do.
If you would like any help with collating feedback from service users or clients, research, reports, marketing, social media, project, case studies, surveys, account handling, events, campaigns, admin or more and think you could accommodate a student then please do let me know.
Placements work really well for projects, particularly those that you just don’t have time to do but also for offering general additional help. It gives students much valued experience to get their teeth into and a real insight into the valuable work that you do while also offering you an extra pair of hands.
The students are in their 2nd year of an undergraduate degree and the placement goes towards their final degree classification. We advertise placement opportunities to students, send you details of interested candidates for you to select or interview, and send confirmation once all is agreed.
Our students are studying degrees such as Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Humanities, Supporting Children, Young People and Families, Business & Marketing, Media, Health & Nutrition, Journalism etc
What we ask from you
We would ask you to induct and supervise the student as you would all staff, plan out a full work programme for the 6 weeks, build in some skills progression and development and take part in an online assessment on skills and performance at the end of the placement.
The placement dates for next year are: 19th January -27th February and 25th May-3rd July
We will need to know:
- How many students you would like and for which placement period
- A brief outline of what the student will be doing with you (typical tasks, any projects or events etc)
- Which skills or attributes are needed
- If you are accessible by public transport
- Anything else you would like to share (if a DBS is required/travel/expenses/accessibility etc)
