There are a couple of great opportunities for third sector organisations to be part of events during the Month of Volunteering which begins on May 11 and runs to June 7 included in which is the Week of Volunteering from June 1 to June 7.
We are looking for third sector organisations who would like a presence with a stand at both of the following events which Voluntary Action Leeds are running in partnership with Leeds City Council: Saturday May 30, 11am - 3pm, Victoria Gardens
This event is a chance for voluntary organisations to promote the work of volunteers and engage with members of the public about volunteering opportunities that are available with their organisations.
There is no charge for a stall, and all facilities will be provided by the Council – awnings, stall, chairs, etc although there will be a charge of £40 for anyone booking a stall who doesn’t turn up!
There is limited space available with about 10 stalls left. Tuesday June 2, 11am - 3pm, Civic Hall This is a small event in Leeds City Council's ante-chamber, and is a fantastic opportunity to promote opportunities to volunteer to Council staff. For this event we will only accept bookings from small voluntary organisations, as we feel that they are disproportionately disadvantaged when it comes to accessing council employees who wish to volunteer.
There are likely to be something like 6/7 stalls, but to try to maximise the chance for anyone who wants to come, we will possibly be looking to team up more than one organisation on a table. Organisations should also note that this location means that it is also an opportunity to promote themselves to passing politicians!
If you are a voluntary organisation who would like a presence at either event then please get in touch with Brendan Brendan.firstname.lastname@example.org
