SARSVL is looking for women who want to volunteer on our helpline providing a much needed support service to women and girls affected by sexual violence.
Support After Rape and Sexual Violence Leeds is the Leeds Rape Crisis Centre, providing free and confidential support to women and girls affected by any kind of sexual violence at any time in their lives.
A key part of the service we provide is our freephone helpline, which is open 20 hours per week over seven days. We are currently recruiting women who wish to volunteer on the helpline, this role involves providing non directive listening and emotional support, on the phone, via text and email and in one off face to face appointments. Becoming a helpline volunteer will involve attending our internal training and candidates have to be able to attend all the sessions so please check these dates before completing an application form. Applications can be downloaded from our website.
