A new Single Point of Access for children and young people with mental health or emotional wellbeing needs is to be launched late autumn.
To be known as MindMate SPA, it will be for professionals to refer into, when they are working with children and young people and identify that they have a need for an emotional wellbeing and mental health service. It is for all children and young people who have a Leeds GP. The development of the service is being led by Leeds South and East Clinical Commissioning Group on behalf of the three Leeds CCGs.
MindMate SPA will go live in late autumn 2015 and will operate via a direct number and email address. Further details will be circulated closer to the time. SPA staff have been recruited, and work is underway to ensure clear referral pathways and that clinical protocols are worked through.
A first version Frequently Asked Questions leaflet for professionals is available and gives an overview of how MindMate SPA will operate.
The Children and Young People’s Emotional and Mental Health website www.mindmate.org.uk has been funded and led by Leeds South and East Clinical Commissioning Group on behalf of the three Leeds CCGs and has been developed with input from young people and clinicians. It is designed as an easy and accessible resource that young people aged 12-19 can use to help them stay mentally healthy, with self-help information and signposting to further support in Leeds. It aims to promote self-help and emotional resilience and covers topics such as stress, anxiety, low mood, bullying, self-harm and bereavement.
