The project aims to make a massive difference to caregiving grandparents in the city with practical workshops giving extended families new skills and resources.
The crucial foundation of the Older Yet Wiser© Project promotes positive relationships and features up-to-date information on child development and emotional wellbeing.
Workshop topics include: feelings, emotions, communication, listening, engaging cooperation, child-led play, and problem-solving skills for children.
Grandparents will benefit from information on parenting styles, and evidence-based research on the brain.
Current government initiatives show the crucial role of loving relationships to ensure that youngsters grow into healthy, well-balanced adults.
The project is open to all grandparents in any caring roles in these postcodes and can apply individually, through community organisations or the Kinship Care team.
