Breeze and Max Cards

The Multi Agency Looked After Partnership (MALAP) – sub group Enjoy was established to ensure looked after children and young people have access to leisure facilities.

Recently the group worked with Dr Tom Quarmby from Leeds Beckett University to conduct a small research project exploring: Looked After Children’s use of free time and its potential contribution to their healthy development and quality of life.   In response to the recommendations made in both reports, we have identified the need to actively promote the use of the Max card. Max Card is a national, local authority commissioned, discount scheme for looked after children and children with disabilities aged 0-19yrs. The aim of the scheme is to create affordable activities and opportunities for young people and their parents/carers. The Max Card is a fantastic way of promoting activity/events and engaging hard to reach young people. Please see attached leaflet for more information. We are asking organisations who offer activity for children and young people to take a look, sign up and get involved with this initiative! Also – we are reminding organisations to promote any activity aimed at Children and Young People through the Breeze website.
