Thousands of people turned out to run the city’s streets for the 31st Leeds Half Marathon last Sunday – clocking up a huge cash boost for charity.

Many of those taking part were raising money for the event’s partner charities which this year were the Jane Tomlinson Appeal; Martin House Children’s Hospice; Sue Ryder; St Gemma’s Hospice; Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice; Marie Curie; Overgate Hospice; CLIC Sargent, Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Last year’s event raised an estimated £300,000 and it is hoped the 2016 run will raise a similar amount for good causes.
