BTEC Health and Social Care - Placements for 2016/17

Bradford College is looking to work in partnership with third sector organisations to host student work experience placements.

Bradford College is looking to work with providers of health and social care services, including in the Leeds area.

Whether you operate a social group or day care for older adults, deliver care in the community, promote healthy living or health education, offer childcare, are a provider of education or training, work with young people including NEETS, work with offenders or ex-offenders, help people with addictions, offer talking therapies or emotional support, or provide another service which promotes health and wellbeing, we would like to hear from you.

We run several BTEC Health & Social Care courses, all of which involve work placements as a core component.  Most of our students live in Bradford but we also regularly take from Keighley, Skipton, Ilkley, Pudsey, Leeds, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Halifax and surrounding areas and so we are always interested in working with organisations in these locations.

We are now looking to plan these placements for the 2016/17 academic year and would like to hear from health and social care providers who are willing to work in partnership with us. Work placements provide our students with opportunities that are invaluable for their learning and personal development.  We also aim for the arrangement to be mutually beneficial in terms of the students’ contribution to your work during placement time.  Generally if an organisation seeks to involve volunteers in delivering its work then it could also benefit from involving students on placement.

We also run a number of degree courses with a health and social care theme including the BA (Hons) Health & Social Welfare and the BA (Hons) Counselling & Psychology in Community Settings.  These are year 2 students and need to go out for at least 33 days.

If you would like to know more or think you can take students on placement, please contact Jonathan Crewdson, Placements Officer, on 01274 436493 or using
