Leeds Community Transport Network

Are you interested in becoming a member?

In February 2016 there was a proposal to form a Leeds Community Transport Network. The idea behind the network would see community transport providers coming together to share information and resources and ultimately strengthen community transport across the City. It is hoped that being a member of the Leeds Community Transport Network could enhance service as there could be the opportunity to negotiate improved rates on:
  • Insurance cover
  • Servicing of vehicles
  • Tail lift Service and inspection
  • Tyres
  • Fire extinguisher checks
  • Fuel Costs
  • Breakdown cover
  • Midas Training

There could also be opportunities to loan vehicles to and from other members, for example if you need to take more clients to an activity. Members would be able to share information with other members using a web based portal and reducing the need for people to attend meetings. Another advantage of membership is a strengthened position when negotiating with local authorities and official bodies, this was seen when the Local Authority changed its decision on Blue Badge Scheme following input from Community Transport Providers.
