Leeds Rhinos Foundation Targeted Projects - NEET 16 - 25 Year Old

TryZone Learning Centre based at Headingley Stadium has new projects planned as part of the Asda Foundation Funding.

OFF THE BENCH’ – Next block due to start 5th October The Leeds Rhinos Foundation ‘OFF THE BENCH’ project is delivered on a rolling basis over 6 week blocks of indoor and outdoor activities catered towards young people increasing life opportunities and raising their chances of success. This is an exciting opportunity for young people who are not in education , employment or training aged 16 + to build their confidence and self-esteem whilst having the opportunity to learn new skills and work as a team.   WHAT THINGS WILL WE DO?     · Problem Solving            · Risk taking and behaviours             · Overcoming barriers      · Communication                · Aspirations                   · Relationships  · Choices                        · Teamwork   Off The Bench sessions are every Wednesday 10.00 – 3.00 (We will provide £4.00 Transport costs and lunch)   2.    YOUNG DADS Project Previous barriers we have come across is initial engagement so we have decided to deliver a 6 week block one full day a week to encourage a group bond and engagement followed by 2 hours a week for 10 on Young Dad delivery.   First 6 Weeks (Group Bonding) - Due to start 13th October The Young dads will access the six week block as above ‘OFF THE BENCH’ project over 6 week blocks to enable the group to “get to know each other” prior to attending the Young Dads project which will follow on.    YOUNG DADS PROJECT aged 16-25 - will support young dads through a transitional process it will be delivered 2 hours a week and run for 10 Weeks as mentioned (date to be arranged that works best once the initial group has started) The aim of the course is to increase resilience and self- esteem, provide practical and emotional support, especially around fatherhood.
