Leeds Community Homes is aiming to raise £360,000 to create 16 permanently affordable "people powered homes" in the centre of Leeds.Leeds Community Homes, a recently formed Community Land Trust for Leeds, has launched a community share offer to raise £360,000 to fund the purchase of 16 homes on a city-centre development.
If the share offer is successful, Leeds Community Homes will retain nine flats for social rental, and sell seven on at an "intermediate" price - around 2/3 of full market value. There will be restrictions on future sales which ensure that the flats will remain at a more affordable price in perpetuity.
The minimum investment in the share offer is £100, and individuals, as well as organisations, can invest. The funder Power To Change has agreed to match individual investments, up to a total of £100,000.
