Hear first hand the stories of survivors who have lived through coercive and controlling behaviour
Karma Nirvana in partnership with Sancus are hosting a conference on ‘Coercive Control“ on 23 March 2017 at the Park Plaza Hotel.
Please see the link where delegates can register for the conference: http://www.sancussolutions.co.uk/coercive-and-controlling-behaviour/
Share in this opportunity to gain in depth understanding of how this new legislation can be effectively used to seek protection and prosecutions.
The Serious Crime Act 2015 created a new offence of controlling and coercive behaviour in intimate or familial relationships.
This offence closed a gap in the law around patterns of controlling or coercive behaviour in an ongoing relationship between intimate partners or family members. However, this potentially powerful new legislation is much under used with large areas of the country reporting no prosecutions.
Join us as we take this opportunity, through the leading expert, Jasvinder Sanghera CBE, to approach greater survivor engagement and moving complex issues into a framework of child and public protection.
Hear directly both from survivors of coercive behaviour and nationally recognised experts in the subject.
