Wellbeing Champions wanted in East Leeds

Are you interested in improving your and your families health and wellbeing? Do you have lived experience of health challenges and would like to share what you have learned with others?

Wellbeing Champions are volunteers who support local residents and family members to take small achievable steps towards better health and a better quality of life.

Our new free 10 week training course starts on the 25th of April and teaches skills in communication, techniques to help cope with stress, barriers to health, motivating and involving people plus group development and behaviours.

Once trained volunteers will be supported and matched up with others who share similar interests to develop wellbeing activities and workshops according to their own interests and experiences.  Activities could include football clubs, walking groups, gardening, mindfullness, or even crotchet! Whatever your interests, if it supports local wellbeing, we shall support you to make it happen.

This is a new 3 year project funded by the big lottery and we hope to work in partnership with local voluntary organisations to support the wealth of skills and experience that local people have to improve health outcomes in this area.
Anyone with ideas that they would like to chat about, or if you would like to find out more about the training course or our volunteer opportunities, please get in touch!
