Leeds Mind and the Horizons Supporting Each other Through Times of Crisis project launch a great new Peer Support Course in Burley

We’ve already ran two similar courses in the last year and the feedback from the attendees have been very positive:   “I have more confidence since joining the group and knowing myself better as a person”   “My wellbeing has improved”   “I have learnt a lot of tools and techniques”   “…great session, excellent…”   “I was made to feel welcome and not different from other people”   “Safe lovely group….great facilitators…”   “I have learnt some confidence”

  This peer support course has been created by Leeds Mind in partnership with the Horizons Help Through Crisis Project and is aimed at people who would like to develop skills to help face crisis situation that may arise in everyday life.   The peer support sessions will cover:  

  • Looking After Myself
  • Coping with Setbacks
  • Five ways to wellbeing
  • Managing anxiety
  • Building Resilience
  • Skills, Strengths and abilities
Along with a course a new course that will run alongside these sessions called From Chaos to Calm, looking at skills and ways to develop ones resilience to crisis or hardship situations.   This course is Completely free and all are welcome.   They will be starting on Monday 8th May at 1.30pm at Better Leeds Communities in Burley, Hyde Park. People who are interested may attend as many or as few of these sessions as they would like but we would recommend if you can to attend of all them in order to gain the full benefit.
