Men’s Health Week 2017 focuses on belly fat this year. and please see below the website of the National Men’s Health Forum (NMHF) for further information on this including downloadable materials.
See the National Men’s Health Forum (NMHF) website for further information on this including downloadable materials. The NMHF believes belly fat is bad for health and men are more likely to have it. They argue it increases the risk of:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes
- Colorectal cancer
- Sleep apnoea
- Premature death from any cause
- High blood pressure
Leeds Men’s Health &Wellbeing Network will once again be supporting the week in the city and we ask voluntary groups and organisations to try to organise something in their area during the week to promote men’s health and wellbeing. We hope that your organisation can support the week and please let Barry Ewart (contact details below) know if you are planning something as part of the week. Also see the National Men’s Health Forum website at: www.menshealthforum.org.uk/
