LeedsACTS! Partnership Group Meeting 16 May

On 16 May 2017, the LeedsACTS! Partnership Group met and the following are the main points from the meeting.

Delivering Differently Together – Beeston Hill was a joint event with the Third Sector Leeds Partnership and was held at Hillside Enterprise Centre on 30 March. It was the most recent event in the DTDLeeds theme (see A New Approach to Housing in November and the original Doing Things Differently in October 2016). DDT Beeston Hill was based on the ‘Collaborate’ model and was attended by nearly 50 people. Martin Dean, Area Lead for Inner South has already used the model in another neighbourhood and has recommended that it is adopted for each of the 6 priority neighbourhoods. There has been a follow up meeting and a report is in progress.

A rough schedule of events was agreed for the year, with the first being a joint Forum Central and LeedsACTS! event on Third Sector health data – this builds on the Third Sector Infomatics work LeedsACTS! has been involved with and will link with the current work Forum Central are leading on around Third Sector health data.

After the success of DDT Beeston Hill, it was agreed that LeedsACTS! shifts focus slightly for the next DDTLeeds event later in the year and focuses on Inclusive Growth.

Early 2018 will see both an event around health and social care, as well as a larger ‘re-launch’ event to demonstrate high level commitment from all three universities to the Social Value Charter. These events are very much in the germination stage, so watch this space for more details. LeedsACTS! will also have a stall at the Forum Central Massive Market Place on 4 July.

Seedcorn Funding
LeedsACTS!  will administer an open call for seedcorn funding to facilitate new collaborations between Third Sector groups and the universities. The process for administering the seedcorn funding is underway and details will be shared shortly.

Due to other commitments, Mags Ashman from Revive and Gilly Bryerley from Purple Patch Arts have both stepped down from the partnership group. Sonja has sent out a request for Third Sector members to join the LeedsACTS! partnership group and has received a positive response so far. If you would like to join or more information about the role, please contact Sonja directly.  Jo Cutter will also moving on to take up a lectureship at the University of Leeds.

The date of the next meeting is Wednesday 11 July 11:00 -13:00 , location TBC
