Leeds’ BME Hub is marking and celebrating Black History Month 2017 with a focus on education - inspired and stimulated by the book “The Mis - Education of the Negro” published in 1933 by Carter G Woodson, the founder and father of Black History Month.
Black History Month Launch: Friday 13 October 2017 at
RJC Dance, 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Jhardine Farrell, Senior Consultant
Learning & Improvement Team talks about the impact of education on
BME communities from a LCC perspective. Tea, Coffee & biscuits

Celebration event Friday 27 October 2017 at RJC Dance, 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Samantha Powell will talk about her experience of being a parent governor. Light refreshments will be served from 5.30pm. Book at bhmcelebrate.eventbrite.co.uk
Using presentations, testimonies and performance we will examine:
· What are our social and cultural educational problems?
· What are the social and cultural aims of education?
· What should they be?
