West Leeds CLLD Local Action Group Seeks Representatives

West Leeds CLLD Local Action Group is expecting to be successful in its applications for Community Led Local Development (CLLD) funding in our area.

The programme will run from 2015 to 2022. The programme will continue when the UK leaves the EU. The West Leeds Community Led Local Development Strategy area incorporates 7 distinct neighbourhoods clustered around the three district centres of Armley, Bramley and Kirkstall. The neighbourhoods include New Wortley, Armley, Hawksworth Wood, the Heights, Wyther Park, Broadleas and Fairfields.   The delivery of the programme will be overseen by a Local Action Group which is drawn from the local community, the public, private and third sector.   Our local strategy focuses on the following priorities:-
  • tailored provision e.g. for single men, parents, young people, people with poor mental health
  • WL Progression Route; mentoring & coaching, job placements, interview support, local jobs
  • locally-based community and development initiatives
  • mentoring and coaching; supporting local high streets and supporting business growth   through advice and support
                                We are seeking to recruit: Third sector (voluntary and community); Residents; and Private Sector representatives who will be interested in serving on the cross sector group which will oversee the programme.   Your commitment to improving lives and to working hard for West Leeds is the key quality we are seeking. This is a working role and will involve a consistent commitment of time to supporting the work of the Local Action Group.
