Skelton Grange Adventure Trail & Wildlife Area open for Good Friday Easter Egg Hunt!

Thanks to The Veolia Environmental Trust's Landfill Communities Fund and loads of support from Leeds volunteers, a super adventure trail winding its way through a beautiful, well-managed nature area is open to welcome the public! Come and try it out at Skelton Grange’s popular Easter Egg Hunt this Good Friday or join in many of the other opportunities on offer...

The new adventure trail at TCV's Skelton Grange Environment Centre is up and ready to welcome visitors for the popular Skelton Grange Taster Egg Trail event running this Good Friday at 11am. The centre’s staff and volunteers would love people to come and enjoy the site, so do head to the Skelton Grange or Eventbrite website to get your Easter Trail tickets - you can also see all the other art workshops, volunteering opportunities and kids holiday activities on offer too!

The Veolia Environmental Trust funded work has all be made possible by the hard work of an amazing bunch of volunteers who meet up every Monday and Friday at the much loved wildlife haven that is Skelton Grange. They have built the new boardwalk and bridge from oak and recycled plastic, and made improvements to the site’s woodland, riverside, pond and meadow habitats for wildlife and visitors to enjoy.

One volunteer said “It’s been great being outside – meeting and working with other people and learning new skills. I have a real sense of pride in what we've done.”

The Veolia Environmental Trust was established in 1997 under the Landfill Communities Fund and supports a wide range of community and environmental projects throughout England and Wales. Veolia has supported this initiative by contributing over £72m since it was established, which to date has been used to award over 2,000 grants to various projects including Skelton Grange Environment Centre.

There's always loads of ways to learn, volunteer and play in the natural environment at Skelton Grange an Environment Centre, an award winning eco-centre and nature area in Leeds. More information can be found at www.tcv.org.uk/skeltongrange or 01132430815 or skelton@tcv.org.uk
