Invitation to contribute to the State of Women's Health in Leeds Report

We want to hear from women across Leeds about their experiences of health and wellbeing.

The Leeds Women and Girls Hub identified the need to develop a State of Women’s Health in Leeds Report to highlight the health challenges that women in our city face, and their experiences of accessing and using services to improve and maintain their health.

The aim of the report is that it will be used to inform service commissioning, design, development and delivery to ensure that women are receiving better opportunities for their health needs. We wish to collect “voices and experiences” to support the data in the report, we will do this in the format of focus groups. The discussions will focus on topics and how they impact on your health and wellbeing.

We are organising focus groups for women from all walks of life - if you identify as a BME woman, an older woman, a female carer, a lesbian or bisexual woman, a trans woman, a woman with a disability, or simply a woman (if being a woman is ever simple!), we want all women to have the opportunity to share their experiences, thoughts and ideas on how being a woman affects your health and wellbeing.

This is your opportunity to come and tell us how being a woman and the issues you may face, affects your health and wellbeing.

We have started organising focus groups and will be continuing to do so over the next few weeks, so keep an eye on our website ( and social media pages (Facebook: Women's Lives Leeds; Twitter: leeds_women) to find out when these will be.

We received funding from Leeds ACTS so we are able to reimburse travels costs and refreshments will be provided. Unfortunately we cannot reimburse childcare costs but all the focus groups will be child-friendly so you can bring your child(ren) with you, but please let us know if you plan to do so by contact or calling 0113 2884593.

The focus group for any woman is on Tuesday 8th May 10:30-12:30, you can book your free tickets here >>

The focus group for women with disabilities is on Tuesday 22 May 1-3pm, you can book your free tickets here >>
