This year's VAL AGM will take place at Stringer House on Thursday 20 September and is entitled “Connecting Leeds – delivering an ambitious, well-connected, healthy city." Please join us.
Along with AGM business we will take the opportunity to have an interactive session in which we hear from key note speakers about a key development or issue in Leeds. This year’s AGM is entitled:
Connecting Leeds – delivering an ambitious, well-connected, healthy city
Connecting Leeds is the ambition to transform travel in Leeds for people who live, work in and visit the city. In 2016, the City Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority began the ‘transport conversation’ and so far 15,000 people in Leeds have shared their views about options on improvements to five key road and bus routes in the city, proposed new rail stations at Thorpe Park and White Rose, along with enhanced park and ride facilities and city centre transport infrastructure upgrades.
This is potentially a once-in-a-generation opportunity to influence local transport strategy and make certain it benefits everyone in the city. We want to make sure that the third sector is making a meaningful contribution to this conversation; from improving accessibility, protecting the environment and tackling climate change, ensuring economic growth is inclusive by enabling all communities to access employment, education and training opportunities to improving wellbeing through physical activity, walking and cycling – so there’s a lot to talk about. Join us at our AGM as we reflect on these challenges and opportunities and input your ideas as to how the third sector can get involved.
Refreshments will be available from 10.00am and AGM business will commence at 10.30am. A networking lunch will follow at 12.00 noon.
